Southeast Michigan aficionados of the inbound marketing platform HubSpot have reason to rejoice: there is once again a local user’s group for enthusiasts of the industry-leading digital marketing tool.
Inbound 281 has been selected to re-launch the Detroit-area HubSpot Users Group (HUG). We were awarded the HUG by HubSpot on July 12.
“It’s an honor to be chosen as the leader of the Detroit HUG,” says Inbound 281 president Mark Parent. “It is a recognition of our status as thought leaders in the inbound and digital marketing spaces.”
“We're excited to have inbound 281 leading the Detroit HUG," says Chris Alexis, Partner/Channel Account Manager at HubSpot. “I've witnessed over the years how committed Mark and his team are to providing their clients with top-notch service and am sure that they will bring that same dedication to leading the Detroit HUG.”
“Not just anybody can become a HUG host,” says Parent. “The fact we were selected validates the hard work we have done over the years and the expertise we have acquired.”
Parent says hosting the quarterly HUG meetings will be a way to share our thought leadership with other experienced practitioners to improve the overall knowledge of HubSpot users in the Metro Detroit community.
The first meeting of the new chapter will be September 27, 2018.
An Inbound Marketing Leader
HubSpot is software that companies use to optimize their online marketing efforts, with the goal of attracting more website visitors and converting those visitors into customers.
The process is called “inbound marketing,” a term coined by HubSpot’s founders.
HUGs are informal get-togethers in which HubSpot customers learn about inbound marketing and sales, as well as HubSpot software best practices. HUG members share their success stories, partake in discussions, and network with other HubSpot customers to build a strong community of HubSpot users in their local area.
There are more than 120 HubSpot user groups globally, including five in Michigan. The former Detroit chapter had been inactive for several years, depriving Motor City HubSpotters of the camaraderie, insights and skill advancement user groups provide.
Worthy of a HUG
HubSpot had been seeking a local marketing agency worthy of reviving the Detroit chapter. Parent, the Inbound 281 president, put in a request to be the leader, knowing that the Detroit community of users was looking for leadership.
He says his company was an obvious choice. “We live and breathe inbound marketing,” he says. “We’ve been using the HubSpot platform for years. Every day we help clients get the most from their inbound marketing efforts using HubSpot.”
To be a HUG host, a company must meet a list of stringent requirements. These include high-level proficiency with the software, certification across a range of topics, and top-level agency-partner status.
Inbound 281 has been a HubSpot Certified Agency Partner for six years. The company uses the platform to support the hub of all their B2B client marketing efforts, strategy and tactical efforts to optimize their websites, build landing pages and forms, and manage email campaigns etc.
“Being chosen as a HUG leader is a big compliment as we trust our HUG leaders to provide our users with high-quality educational experiences that are reflective of the work we as a company are doing. I'm confident Inbound 281 will do a great job,” says Alexis.
The First Meeting, Sept. 27
The first quarterly meeting of the revived Detroit HUG will be September 27 at Inbound 281’s offices at 281 Enterprise Ct., Suite 100, Bloomfield Hills, Michigan 48302. Doors open at 5:00 pm.
